“Deadline is set in Durban, South Africa. It tells the story of Feriyal Adam, an emerging journalist who has her sights set on the coveted prize, but… the universe has other plans for her – she loses her job, her mother succumbs to cancer and life has no meaning until she realises that her determination to succeed is all she needs in life.

Feriyal takes on a dangerous assignment to prove her mettle. Determined, stubborn and foolhardy, she breaks rules to get what she wants until the moment when she stares death in the face. About the author:

Zaheera Walker was born in Durban. She studied Journalism at DUT and began her in-service training at the Daily News in Durban. During this time she was exposed to the court and crime reporting; the general news and human interest beats. Her creative imagination saw a story in every situation and this encouraged her to pen her debut novel DEADLINE. Even though the story is classified as fiction, Zaheera aims to use it to encourage people to follow their dreams and aspire to be the best they can be.

Today Zaheera lives in Johannesburg and works at the Joburg Property Company. She has a BA Communication Science and enjoys reading South African-enriched stories. She is working on her second novel due for release in 2017.
